We
are supporting...
A
Clinic in Lira, Northern Uganda,
which provides primary healthcare, including treatment
for malaria, immunisations and HIV-AIDS counselling, testing
and treatment. We need at least £1,500
per month to continue this work which provides much needed care to at
least 200
people each month.
We
are in the early stages of extending our work into other parts of
Northern Uganda, including a new clinic in Pader. This will
become our base from which we hope to reach out into the wider
community using a fleet of
Mobile Clinics.
A
number
of our patients from Lira, Pader and our community-based
programmes may require more complex medical care, including e.g. Cancer Care and surgery, which we can provide in Hope
Ward, at International Hospital Kampla. Whilst
our costs are subsidized by the hospital we still need to raise, on
average, £300
for each patient treated.
A recent initiative is a charity funded Physiotherapy clinic in Hope Ward.
Our
Costs
All money received by Suubi Trust is used to support the
work in Uganda. We make no deductions either from your contributions or
from tax relief claimed through Gift Aid.
Our trustees are volunteers who do not charge for their time, or claim any payment or expenses. We have no administration costs.
Operational costs for Hope Ward and the charity clinics are subsidized
by Dr. Clarke. Suubi Trust does not pay rent or contribute to the
capital costs of establishing this required infrastructure.

Gift
Aid
| Make Your Donation
Worth More – at NO extra cost to you! |
No
matter what the size of the gift that you make to Suubi Trust, we are
able to reclaim an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue for every
£1 you give.
|
| How Does Gift Aid Work? |
Once
you have made your donation and completed a Gift Aid Declaration
we are
able to claim back the tax on your donation from the Inland Revenue
meaning that if you donate £100, Suubi Trust receives
£128.
This scheme applies to both one-off donations and to regular giving.
|
| Who is Eligible for Gift Aid? |
If you
are a UK taxpayer paying income tax or capital gains tax at any rate
you will be eligible to join the scheme. You must ensure that
you have paid tax to at least the value we are reclaiming within the
tax year.
|
| Information for Higher Rate
Taxpayers |
Suubi
Trust can only reclaim tax on your gift at the basic rate. If you
are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between the
higher rate of tax of 40% and the basic rate of tax of 22% in your Self
Assessment return.
Since April 2004 you have been able to gift repayments to a charity of
your choice. This means that your original gift could be worth even
more to the charity.
For a higher rate tax payer this means a gift worth £128 to
Suubi Trust will cost you only £77!
|
| How to Join the Scheme |
To
join the scheme all you have to do is complete a Gift Aid Declaration
when you make a donation to us. This can apply to a one off gift or all
gifts that you plan to make now and in the future.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to put some of the tax you pay
to a cause that will make a difference to people's lives. For more
information email us at Contact@SuubiTrust.org.uk.
